I don't know about Nirvana's other lyrics, but I wonder if their stupid lyrics for "Smells Like Teen Spirit" were intended to reflect the too-common hormonal overload stupidity of actual "teen spirit" as reflected in so many YouTube and Tosh.0 videos AND reflected in the Weird Al parody.
