More sanding and laying down Polyurethane on my Balsa nose cones.

In a way it's too bad I'm going to paint over them. Balsa with Polyurethane actually is a pretty wood to look at. At the right angle, the grain of the Balsa glows in sunlight. Quite pleasant to look at.

I know of no correlation between old motors and failures. There are some lots that are more prone to issues than most, but they are rare. I'd fly 10 year old motors no issues at all. And have flown C5-3s under the expired motor program are are at least that old if nto more. It's really all in how they have been stored. And they are more robust than many believe.

ooooo which ones?

Modern High Power Rocketry 2 by Mark Canepa (from ebay) and an AltimeterOne from Jolly Logic (tiny little thing!).

Today I packet up the LPR stuff for tomorrow. Taking 2 of my great nephews to launch with SCRA. First time ever for the two. 8 years old and 5 years old.

Fly safe!

Applied Stickershock vinyl to my 1/4 scale PML Patriot. Very happy with the results!

Beautiful!

Epoxied nine nose cones and payload bays for the kid's rockets. Thought it would be easier...and cleaner this way.

Picked up some screws, went shopping for some swivels. Found none that will fit my 32" LOC chute. Suggestions?

Marked up the BT for my Level One build, and started to work on the motor mount.

I've used horse harness hardware on my larger rockets. Ballbearing swivels, extra stout latches, all kinds of stuff. You should be able to find a place locally like I have, Hap Tallman's, or something very much like them.

I built a universal e-bay for use with BT-55 size rockets.

I'm also preparing 3 flights for tomorrow morning because I want to try out a new video camera I purchased a couple of days ago.

Launch got rained out, but I launched a G64

Finally got my first CTI case with a G88 :)

Oh, but that was just our scheduled lunch break! We resumed launching, after it blew over.

Finally got my first CTI case with a G88 :)

Coolies!

Come back tomorrow -- if all goes according to plan, I'll fly this:

(I stuck the roll of tape in there to provide a sense of scale -- 75mm 5g motor in a 75mm 6g case)

I passed my level 2 flight with a j 415 in a 10 pound rocket. It went up to 3070 feet and came back to the pad around 15 feet from it. It was a perfect strait up flight. I was so nurvis and I am usually calm but it was a blast.

Now you can "Getmore" from the vendors at your next launch. I just did that at ROCstock, talk about sticker shock! Those level 2 motors do get a bit expensive!

Cool... Pics or it didn't happen.

lol, I launch an initiator with a F motors in the back yard to please the 4 friends of my son. Nothing very impressive. It's just that I was so busy with them that I never expect to find the time to launch one. They was a bunch of kids of 10 years old coming to build a tree house , they even eat their lunch on it, this I have a picture
