    MMMSClub September 15th

I just found out that I have an extended weekend away from school in time for the launch! I will be able to attend and I am bringing my STILL unnamed scratchbuild that I will be flying on an H128. I will also fly my Defender on a D15. Will Robert DeHate be there? What will you be bringing?

    Eggy,

According to the calendar on the AMW site, Robert will be at MDRA. If you need something in particular, get a hold of him and he should be able to get it up to the field.

Hope you have a good time and good flights; I'll be away. Kenn

Uh-Oh, now there are 4 M's? We're going to have to come up with a new unofficial name and logos!

I have to work until noon, but I need some motors for the following weekend at Cherryfield so I plan on heading down after work to pick them up from Scott if he can find them.

I should be there as well but will be after noon or so since I have to take the boy to swim lessons! Maybe, maybe I'll have my blackhawk 38 ready to go for a test run.

If you need help with the reload mr eggplant I'll happily help if you can wait until I get there. I think you have a CTI load now so it will be, well, much easier than the last one.

    Hoping for good weather!

Awesome! I have my CTI case, but no reloads yet. I am going to see if I can someone get one or two before this weekend from Robert.

WPI will be there with a few people hopefully, bringing up the Performance Rocketry Competitor 3 that we planned to fly today on an Aerotech I600R. Hopefully we will also have time to fly a few smaller rockets on F's and G's, plus a Wildman Wildchild with Raven-based Dual Deploy.

Is anyone going who would be willing/able to transport 3 rockets (HPR) back to the Needham/Newton area (or at least that general direction)?

I left 3 rockets and a couple PVC cradles with Scott at the air show for display, but I won't be able to make it to Berwick on 9/15 due to work. If anyone is headed from the launch back toward Metro west MA and could accomodate the rockets, I'd appreciate the help. It will save me a 4hr round trip drive back to ME just to get the rockets so I can get them prepped for Amesbury on 9/22.

The rockets are 4", and the larger two are about 5' and 6' tall, but can be separated for easier transport if needed. The third is a 3' V2 that's fairly compact. The PVC cradles aren't glued and can easily be disassembled to save space.

I'd be free on Sunday or during the evenings next week to pick them up.

Again, I'm in Needham, but I'd be grateful to anyone who could bring them even part of the way and be able to meet up with me to hand them off.

If you think you may be able to help, post here or PM.

    Thanks

I am planning to be there and hope to fly a scratch built two-stage MPR with a 3-engine cluster in the booster. The forecast says it may be a little windy Saturday (less so on Sunday) so I will need to keep on eye on that. This will be a maiden flight and I want to fly it under calm conditions. It is a heavy bird with an E and 2 Ds in the booster and an E in the upper stage. The design is stable but it may come off the pad a bit slow. I don't want any surface-to-surface missile action.

    Hi All,

Hey I got some shitty news today and I feel like crap! I got Shingles (not the Cedar kind) the chicken pox kind. So I feel like Poo, and the weather looks like Poo for Sat.

But Sunday looks Fabulous weather wise, and I would have a full days meds in me that may help the way I feel! I Hope! So I am moving the Launch to Sunday the Sunny day of the weekend.

Because of the delay, will Robert Dehate be in attendance? Also, are you still planning on going Jason? Finally, I hope that Scott is feeling better!

Yep I plan on being there. I am sure that there is a 29mm motor you can use in my range box Mr. Eggplant!

I also hope that Scott feels better!

With the lack of launches at the show we have a bunch of motors in the black box and any not named or that were aimed at the air show launch will be up for purchase.

As always, I had an awesome time at the launch today! I flew both of the rockets that I planned and got some great videos.
Here is my Hammered on an H128:

I also picked up an H163 for next launch!

'Twas a bit windy today compared to the last few launches! However, only a few small casualties! Personally, I broke a fin on my sumo (rats another tangle on the chute!) and lost yet another nose cone in the BA Defender.

I got a few good snaps in and I'll post them here when I have a bit more time!

That H128 fight was awesome Andrew. Miles really enjoyed being a part of that flight, even if he was just there for comic value!

WPI flew four rockets, two flights of our Competitor 3, both successful! We were able to fly it on an AeroTech I-600R to 2000 feet and on a CTI J244W to 2466 feet. We nearly lost our Wildchild on a CTI 54-R Moon-burner to around a mile, fortunately we recovered thirty feet from the woods. The only casualty was a Loc Precision Muskrat that broke a shock cord from a dynamite CTI ejection charger. Here is a video of the Competitor 3 flying on the I600-R.

Flight is at the 42 second mark.
