I don't think the colloidal silica is a microballoon filler (?). This is West's microballoon filler. 410 is even lighter but according to West is not identified as a microballoon filler.

Colloidal silica and microballoons may resemble each other (sort of) but the two substances are different. Microballoons break easily, which aids in the sandability of cured epoxy that contains them. The epoxy in the fillets looks and feels very solid and decently hard. They are much lighter in weight though because the filler displaces some of the epoxy and lowers its density.

Elmer's Carpenters Wood Filler (aka Fill 'N Finish) contains microballoons.

Colloidal silica and fumed silica both consist of solid beads of silica. Microballoons are hollow glass spheres.

Unfortunately, I'm thinking November too. You going to October Skies, Kit?
Not sure as there may be date conflict with a Highland Games competition down in Ventura that same weekend. Mrs. OD has been talking about making the trip down there to visit the kids and grandson in connection with the games.

Visiting the kids and grand kids sounds like a great time.
