Well, ever since I discovered HPR, there's been a vacuum forming in my wallet.

Sorry. I didn't sleep much this weekend, and my frontal lobes have the day off. ;)

I believe George Gassaway does it for some of his projects, and Tim VanMilligan makes parts for his Saturn kits.

The only Vacuforming I did was with a Mattel (tm) Vac-u-Form back in the Mid sixties....( I was long out of the Plastic sheet stock about the time I saw an ad for Estes In A copy Of "Tales of Suspense" comic book
 
My bro inlaw used to vacuum form bodies for slot cars in 1/32 and 1/24 scales. They had pretty good detail. As I recall he built the former from stuff you can get at the home depot.
 
Could one vacuum form a two part mold for a NC and reinforce it with fiberglass? That sound a lot easier then the conventional method.
