I've been to the last 21 NARAM's as a sport flyer only. It looks like this one is going to break my streak.

No HPR at this site - just model rockets

    Bill,

MTMA is the closest club to us now that we've moved. We flew with them once but I'm pretty sure that was a different field. The boys and I hope to join them a few times this year. I'll let you know what the field looks like.

I suppose that means that I will be making my L1 attempt somewhere else though.
    Blessings,

There will be a sport range setup in addition to the contest range. We just don't have the room to fly HPR here. we do have HPR field that we use in the winter when the crops are harvested. You can still have a lot of fun with models up to G power. Come on out and fly. If you are a Sport flyer only, try an event. The little Micro-Maxx models are about as far from HPR as you can get. But you use the same skills.

I hope to see you in Aurora next year.

The majority of what I fly is G and below and I'm a big fan of Micro-Maxx. My club flies on two low power fields and one high power field and I find the small field launches as enjoyable and occasionally more enjoyable than the big field launches. However, between the hotel, air fare, and a rental car it costs me about $1000 to attend NARAM. That doesn't include shipping my rockets which was expensive this year but would be cheaper with model rockets. So I've got to convince myself that the flying is irrelevant and it's worth that kind of money to hang out with people I usually only get to see once a year. It might happen.

On the rare occasion my club holds a contest I'll fly a competition rocket but if you ever see me fly one at a national event you can assume the end of the world is near.

The world's supposed to end before next NARAM anyway, if you believe that whole Mayan calendar thing.

Is that the excuse you're going to give for not building your competition models until the last minute?

No, I'll have to come up with another one. That's a good six months before I'd start building anyway.

Thanks to the original poster (Dale Greene, is that you?) for the events and date. It looks like a lot of fun.

Buscaglia, you need to get a life, if you're on here posting at 3:30 in the morning.

Hope everybody had a good time the rest of NARAM week; we enjoyed seeing everybody.

It was only 11:27 EDT. You may have your computer set to GMT. Still, I really do need to get a life.

Yup, that's me - I was only at Naram 2 days due to work - Bruce Canino e-mailed me the events Friday Nite to be posted. Hope to be there for the full week next year and compete again for the first time since Johnstown

I know it's a bit of a drive for you, John, but you are most welcome to come down to our field in Holland Indiana for your L1 flight. Heck, Chan drives over several times a year to fly with us. Our field is large enough to fly up to J motors.

You could even make a mini vacation out of it and bring the family to Holiday World (just about a half hour or so from the field) - one of the nicest theme parks you could ever visit (free parking, free soft drinks and free sunscreen in the water park, two water coasters, three wooden coasters and all three have been ranked number one world wide at one time or another).

Didn't they say that there will be no HP flights at NARAM 55?
Pick one; go to either a HP launch or a LP launch.
So, there really isn't a conflict at all.
