    Darkstar 2.1

Well I am all about done building my darkstar 2.1. It was a fun build and a learning experience because it was my first dual deploy setup. I have a couple pictures. I plan to get the four inch darkstar next or one of the bigger ones.Click image for larger version.

I felt the need to paint this rocket most of mine are naked but I spent a while on this one so I painted nothing special just what paint I could fine in the garage. I feel my av bay is really cluttered though and it is pretty hard to get everything in.

Hope you have some sharp eyes to track it..or binos! That thing will flat out get up and boogy on an H or higher! Last time I flew mine on an H it got to just a bit below 3,000 feet Was a teensy little spot in the sky at apogee!

    Rocket looks great!

    Oh the humanities...

Very Nice job. have fun with your first dual deploy! a SMALL J will take that thing out of site so when you get to that point you can do a LII on it if you want. but think about a traker!

For all that build this rocket what kind of switch did you use? On mine I am using a key switch and where I soldered the wires on the switch to connect to altimeter they keep getting torn off because I don't have enough room in the av bay. Thanks
Oh yeah Dixon nice paint job and rocket I want to get the rocket sometime soon, but then again I want to get a lot rockets soon. Not enough money.

Wires poked through the baro hole, ends twisted and taped to the upper airframe. Works like a champ, cheap and easy.

I like to mount mine directly to the sled, and access them through a static port. Keeps everything self contained with less wires to navigate. Granted this is a large sled, there is plenty of room on a 54mm sled to do it as well.

With my DS I use the twist and go method. I have never used a switch on a rocket not even my L-3 flight. I friend for mine flew is O reload project last year at LDRS useing the twist and go method, no problems all the way to 35K. He also has never used a switch. Its just dosen't fail.
