I agree.
I also wouldn't want to live in Canada, a world without Krispy Kremes! (No offense to our friends north of the border.)

In and Out Burgers.... are one of the best places in Southern, California
We have them here. I'd be surprised if there weren't any in Canada.
Aircon we don't need at the moment. Handy for cooling down a stuffy car though. In anything faintly resembling summer. Which it doesn't now, hasn't for weeks and won't for weeks more. I slightly envy you your climate, for a bit.

I couldn't live in a world without air conditioning. At least not in South Texas. When the wife and I were young, thin and good looking (she still is good looking) we did just fine without A/C. Now I think I'd literally die without it.
I'm not real picky about my burgers and fries, Whataburger, McDonalds, Dairy Queen, it's all good with me. I loves me a Whopper! Gotta love the flame broiled goodness! Of course nothing beats firing up the charcoal grill and throwing on a couple of 1/3 pound Angus patties. Mmmmmm grilled Angus burgers. Gotta go to the grocery store now!

Don't envy too much... you might get what you wish for!
I wouldn't want to live without AC either... Texas is absolutely BRUTAL in summertime without it. I worked plenty of hot HOT 100 degree PLUS days in 90%+ humidity picking cotton and combining grain sorghum back when we were row cropping, and still do baling hay and stuff, all on an open-deck tractor with a kiddie pool for a sunshade/topper, but at LEAST we had good AC back in the house... makes life livable...
Heck here in Indiana where I'm visiting family it's been over 100 degrees several days last week. It's closer to normal now, just below 90 degrees. Heck it was cooler in Texas than it was here last week, and Texas in 1200 miles southwest! YUCK!
I envy the coolness of London (if not the overcast and fog and dampness...)

Well I know what I am getting for dinner on my way home from work now.

I love Texas. I was born and raised there and spent 36 years of my life living there. It is and always will be my "home" (so to speak) - I just can't live there any more. last time I was in Texas was July, 2009 when I went to move my dad from Tomball to live with us here in California. The heat and humidity were unbearable and did very unkind things to my arthritic back. I was nearly invalid due to the pain. That was when I realized the truth in the saying "you can't go back home again."
There are many things I miss about living in Texas (Whataburger, Blue Bell, my beloved Astros) but the heat and humidity aren't among them

Well, no offense to you, we are all entitled to our own opinion especially with food.
But...I've had Krispy Kremes several times and I always thought Tim Horton's was better. Especially Timbits!
Yes, we have them here in Michigan.
As for burgers, I like A&W the best...and they have the best onion rings!

Hehehe... reminds me of one of Tim Wilson's jokes... talking about fast food advertising and the shameless ends to which they'll go...
"KFC can be part of your HEALTHIER lifestyle"... REALLY?? What's healthy about a greasy bucket of fried chicken??
The bigger question is, "healthier than WHAT??" A 16 ounce ribeye and bottle of Scotch??" LOL![]()
Later! OL JR![]()
PS. I'll take the ribeye, medium please... in the interests of being healthy and remaining capable of fitting my "rocketeers medium" t-shirts, I'll forego the Scotch and leave that for someone else...

Now, I love a nice Angus Ribeye or Porterhouse! NEVER PAST MEDIUM!

Take some good ground round or Black Angus, mix in some mozzarella, salt, pepper, basil and sun dried tomato seasoning, form into 1/3- to 1/2-pound patties and put them on a grill over medium heat. Cook until done. This is what I made for July 4th and for my birthday and boy, howdy were they yummy!

Yea,,ribeyes arent cheap, ( I usually have to put them on lay away ) but usually twice a year, Tax return season, and aniversary, (we just hit 27th in May). And a good bottle of muscadine wine from Georgia is only nine bucks,
This may be true but it does give something to think about.

Oh I like a good steak now and again. Salt, fresh cracked pepper and cooked black and blue, black on the outside and blue on the inside. Baked potada with butter, sour cream, salt and fresh cracked pepper. Smother the steak in slowly sauteed mushrooms and onions. Throw in an ice cold beer in a frosted mug and I'm a happy dude.
I'm not too worried about hamburgers doing me in. Infact hamburgers are among the healthiest things I eat. I always have lettuce, tomatoes, onions and pickles on a burger, heck, thats practically a salad.![]()

Wish I could find some muscadine wine in Tx. I miss my old vines in Ga. For burgers, give me the grill and some big fat sassy pattys with chopped onions blended and some garlic----argggg- We do ribeyes once a week as a treat but really miss those big ole north Ga. beef ribs ---hav'nt figured that one out yet in Tx. As for the heat----used to the humidity being from the south , but months on end of 90-100+ heat really takes a toll and the nights are miserable too!!!! By the way ---I cook and she cleans up my mess---quite the arrangement---she hates to cook--I hate to clean---lifes good !.
