    Bullpup AGM-12, Glossy or Flat?

    Hi everyone,
I'm finishing up my BT-55 Bullpup and I'm about to go into the painting stage, then decals (special thanks to Dlazarus6660 for sending me the decals ), then maybe clear coat. So, I'm wondering, does the actual AGM-12D have a glossy or a flat finish? Or semigloss? From the pictures I've seen, it's extremely difficult to tell.
    Thanks.
And yes, I will post pictures when I'm done.

I don't know what finish it has, but I think semi gloss would look good on it.

Afterburner most likely hit it on the head. Most missiles of that era were painted with gloss paint---not like the paint on your car but more a step above semigloss---the sheen on your washer or dryer might be comparable.

    Semi-gloss it is, then.

Been a long time since I saw one "in service" (and I was a kid at the time) but I remember the finish was very shiny. You would be OK with glossy or near-glossy.

The one on display at the USAF museum in Dayton is also glossy, IIRC.
In dog beers, I've only had one....

Well, It won't be glossy or semi-glossy for a while yet, what with the paint bubbling issue I had. But, now that I think about it, a clear coat would probably be a good idea, to protect the decals. So, I'll get a glossy clear coat.
I'll post pics when it's done!

What Hornet Driver said is how I view things.

Paint doesn't "scale" well (at least with the typical tools that we hobbyists use), so even if flight articles had a glossy surface, gloss paint can make them look too toy-like for my taste. So if they had a glossy surface, you can get by with semi-gloss and in most cases will look just fine.
