Another Saturn 1B question - Ejection baffle

    Hello again,

I got a BT70 Ejection Baffle for my Semroc Saturn 1B.

Just wondering about how close I should mount it above the tube opening where the ejection blast enters the parachute area...

    Thanks again!

I would put far enough forward to leave enough room for the parachutes and shock cord, but not so far forward that you have to really squash everything to get it in. I would probably put the baffle so the the front of the baffle is about 3" to 4" from the front of the BT-70.

I pranged my Saturn 1B last summer with a nomex heat shield aboard. The D12-3 had a rather thick clay cap so only enough ejection to blow the CM/LES clear of the stack.
