    Another CC Express

I am starting on the Estes CC Express, I bought a couple of these with my 1/2 off coupons. I really like the design but had no intentions of finishing like the face card until I saw the Estes Video. The HD video shows the built model and the paint job and decals look great.

I lost my CC Express somewhere at my college flying field. It went up, and then just didn't come down...

Great Rocket. Goes (REALLY!) High, with only a BT-55 body tube. I'd recommend putting a coupler on the end of the booster, mine got a little messy over the 6 or 7 flights it had.

Also flies great single-stage. My friends and I used to shove E9's in the back. In fact, my First E-Impulse engine was set off in a CC Express...

Never did add the coupler, but I should be ok. The rocket is built and in the priming and filling process right now, should start the top coats tomorrow. Since I have a couple of days off, I will start on another build while the primer dries.

looking good...the coupler does add some security, but it will fly fine without. Looking forward to seeing the paint job.

I sprayed 3 or so coats of primer with sanding in between until everything was nice and smooth and no balsa grain showing. I sprayed 2 coats of glossy red and 2 coats of glossy black. I used the decals in the kit which are peel and stick, not my favorite. I sprayed the rocket and backside of the decals with soapy water then applied the decals. The decals are pretty thick so they don't blend in too well as you can see from the pictures. I drew the decal in Coreldraw so next time I can make a waterslide decal.

I've also got a cleaned-up scan of the decals suitable for making waterslides...it's embedded in http://www.caveduck.com/rocketplans/...press_2011.pdf
