I think to be on the safe side for now, I will buy only commercial motors wherever the launch will be, and keep receipts for everything. I will also proudly carry my Handbook of Model Rocketry in hand luggage, to prove the residues are not for malicious purposes.
I will clean the rocket prior to storing it in the bag, just for peace of mind.
