Does the "Mighty D' from BMS or Aero's "Interlock Controller" work better for launching aerotech E to G motors?

I have the aerotech one and just looked at the other - both probably work fine - aerotech has longer stock cord, the mighty d looks more versatile in the long run

A little bit like apples and oranges.

The Interlock - is very simple. A key, a button, a buzzer, and 40 feet of wire.
You select/supply the power source (a car battery, a gel-cell battery, etc.)
$49 at hobbylinc.com

The Mighty D - more complex.
A battery box for 8 "D" cell batteries.
A relay (allows the battery to be very close to the pad)
an LED for continuity,
a launch button. (no safety key - unplug the launch button for safety)
Only 20 feet of wire - not long enough for the NAR safety code for E-G motors.
Limited by the power source (8 "D" cells)
$40 for the kit at BMS (requires soldering etc)

For $40-$50 you can build your own launch controller with a real key switch, led and buzzer, relay if you want, 12v gel cell and 50 feet of wire.

Would this type of battery be sufficient for launch purposes?

Gel cell 12V 7Ah

I have one of these in my RC flight box for my starter. It would be easy enough to make a power lead to connect to it.
