Hi all. Hopefully no-one has asked this before: Since there are a few rocket kits available that have holes in their fins, would Rocksim be able to accurately sim these designs? I know that there are some things that can confuse Rocksim a bit, and I'm wondering if holes in your fins is too much for Rocksim to handle. I've tried to sim 1 rocket with holes in the fins just for kicks and giggles, but Rocksim says it goes from stable to unstable to stable to unstable and so forth. The design that I sim'ed was rather unusual (as mine often are), so I'm trying to determine if the design is naturally unstable or if Rocksim doesn't like open fins.

Well, if the sim doesn't like them, you could design the fins in two parts that butt against each other. That way the sim shouldn't freak out and should give you a rough approximation of the rocket's performance.
