The launch is almost here. I can't wait! I will be bringing a couple of friends to try to get them hooked on rockets. Apart from that, I will fly my MadCow Discovery on a G53-5FJ if the wind isn't too bad, and my Badazz Defender on a D15-4T no matter what. What are you going to bring?

I am excited to hit my first MMMSC launch!

I am bringing my Madcow frenzy for my level 1 cert flight on a H123 skidmark or H225 thunder (if we can't light up sparkies).

I will also have my Ghostbusters Goblin but would need to borrow a 38/29 adapter since I have not ordered one yet.

    Darkstar mini g83 blue streak
    Sumo on a G76-g
Estes Phoenix on a an E

Some other rockets as well. I will also have my unpainted warrior in case there is a problem with my Frenzy.

Should be fun. Hope the weather cooperates!

Bring the Thunder; leave the Skid at home. Like so many clubs, MMMSC has a "No Sparkies" rule. Come the winter and snow cover, Scott has said he would revisit the sparkie issue.

Recently, the owner of the sod farm talked to Scott and asked when we were going to start using the field. This was after three or four launches this season. The worst we've done to mark our launches has been some soot in the grass from a couple of Smokey Sams and a couple of trees cut down by a land owner some distance away to help the MIT crowd recover their M-impulse rocket (two trees because the owner cut down the wrong tree the first time).

Right now, the forecast looks great for Saturday. If anything goes awry, there will be a joint CMASS/MMMSC launch on 07 July in Berwick (rescheduled from 30 June).

    See you there,
    Kenn

I'll be there, not sure what I'll bring. Something big, something small? I'm going to launch my MCR 229 (29cluster) for the second time on a pair of 5gr Blue Streaks, possibly my Arreaux upscale on a 1 1/2 grain 75mm or a 2gr.

    Kenn,

Thanks for the heads up on the Sparky! I'll just save it for another day! I think that the thunder is a better bet for the Frenzy. Honestly I think that I probably could have gone just a tad larger but what can you do.

This sounds like a great place to launch! I am pretty amped! See you all there!

I'm hoping to be there with 1-3 kids in tow. We are working on a L2 rocket that probably won't be ready in time for a cert attempt this week, but we will hopefully be trying out DD on our Madcow patriot. If I get the Bluetube 4" kit finished this week, we may try to go for the cert (less likely) or fly it on some L1 motors to test it out (more likely).

Of course, as always, this depends on weather and coordinating schedules with the wife, kids, sports practices and games, visiting inlaws, etc. For once, however, I have a full weekend off from work (and I should get some say in this on Father's day weekend, right?? ).

Hold the Sparkies for the Dec 22 2012 "Post End of the World Launch" when the ground is frozen and/or snow covered. I really have nothing against the Motor formulation, just cant risk damage to the grass as that is the sod farms product.

Totally understood! Glad I checked! I will put up a sparky at LDRS if permitted.

Put down first coat on my QCC Explorer and it should be ready to rock as well. That ought to be a nice flight based on people's reports. I really liked building that one. The fin pods were cool - I love the engineering that went into them!

I plan to be there with a Yellow Crayon rocket and my Wildchild flying on as yet to be determined 29mm motors, probably CTI reloads.
Am working on a LOC-IV and a LOC Graduator, but neither will likely be done by Saturday. Will also have my usual assorment of low
power models to fly, including my FlisKits Morningstar with a new nosecone and parachute.

I will be there on Saturday. I will be bringing my EZI-65 on a I161. I am hoping that I can get the altimeter to go back to the defaults before then. I will also have my Big Nuke up there on a J410 Red Lightning. I will also have my brand new Magician on a D12-5.

Back in April, we tried to join the mile-high club with an Apogee Aspire MPR on a long-burning Apogee F10. Well, nobody saw the rocket come down, but it sure did fly high with the 8-second burn time! It possibly was actually the first private sector vehicle to rendezvous with the ISS, but we'll never know.

The second Aspire is almost done, and this time we'll try to break Mach with an AT G77. I'm not sure yet if I'm confident enough in recovery to put the altimeter in.

We'll also try DD on the 4" Patriot, if I can get a couple ground tests in first. Plus we'll bring our usual LPR assortment. Fingers crossed for clear skies and calm winds...

    Sully,

Sounds like some good flights are going to happen. Could I ask a favor of you and anyone else who's flying some very big or very fast and especially very high things; please bring a printout of any computer simulations you've done. With Scott not arriving until later in the day, I think it would help any of the range officers to feel better about these flights if we can see some supporting data with the expected performance.

    Thanks and see you Saturday,
    Kenn

The J410 flight of the Big nuke was supposed to go up in April, but due to the winds that day, I decided against it. From what I been seeing, Saturday is going to be the opposite from that April launch.

I just drove out by there after an Icecream at Mrs.s and Me's good hard serve. Green Leaves is the best Chinese in the town. Sesame Chicken is to die for.

It is an easy drive to the field, watch the York cops, itchy ticket fingers.

What a great day at MMMSC's launch!

Thanks to Ken, Darren and the other guys manning the RSO/Launch table. Everything ran very smoothly which makes a launch that much better.

Great to meet Eggplant and to put a face and a voice to the infamous Scotty Dog!

I got 4 birds in the air - Sumo on G64-G, Fliskit Tres on 3xB6-4, DarkStar Mini on F20 and the Frenzy on H255-WT for my Level-1. There were some GREAT flights - hope to hear about about them from the attendees on here. There were some problems too. We can talk about those but I'll just pretend like I didn't blow up my new Mega Mosquito on the pad.

MANY MANY thanks to Darren for signing off on my Level-1 paperwork. I know that you were looking to get a rocket or 2 in the air yourself and I really appreciate the time.

Can't wait until the next one!

I second Jason's sediments. What a great day! Just a little chilly for me. I admit I was Ill prepared for the weather. I had a rocket destroyed on a hard landing. I thought I lost a rocket but I was lucky it landed just short of the trees.
ScottyDog finally made it to lunch, Great seeing you there!
KennB did his usual wonderful job of launching rockets. LCO?
Darrin and Guywad did a great job of inspecting the rockets.
    Thanks Guys!
    What a great day!

Another well-organized and fun MMMSC launch. This was my third, and I'll be back!

All in all great flights from everybody. My Hod Rod Buffalo hit 1234 feet on an F26! I would have measured the altitude on the G88 reload I bought if it hadn't been for loosing my dad's altimeter inside Xanthos (That rocket with the cluster booster that just soooooaaarrrreeeddddddd into the clouds). Guess I know what I'll be getting him for fathers day...

I'm big into strapping cameras on rockets, Figured I'd share the video I took today on board the best flight my Executioner has ever had. (Skip around a bit, The video is un-edited and thus very long).

Can't wait until the July 7th launch!

This was my second time in Berwick. The first was the very windy day in April. A lot better this time though. Great field and it was worth the 2 hour drive!

I flew: 1980's V2 on an E9-4, Mini Spoil Sport on 4 C7-5's, LOC Aura on an F21-8 and a Nike-Tomahawk on an E15-7. The only hitch was with the V2. The shock cord tangled the shrouds and it landed a little too hard. The broken fin will be easy to repair. Think I will try an F the next time. And double check the chute

I had a great day at the launch as well. Flew my Yellow Crayon rocket for the first, second and almost 3rd time. It flew slow and low on an Estes D12-3, higher and faster on a Road Runner E25-4R, and low and loud on an Estes E12-4 which cato'd and spit the nozzle. Mangled the coupler and burned through my braided kevlar shock cord attachment, but it will be fixed and will live to fly another day. Also got a nice flight in with my Wildchild on a CTI F59-12A (drilled for 7 second delay) White Thunder. Not quite the instantaneous kick of a VMAX motor, but pretty darn close. I immediately visited Robert DeHate to purchase 2 more . Post launch debreifing at the Pepperland Cafe was very enjoyable with a peice of Parsnip Cake capping off the conversations and meal.

Thanks Scotty! I got a few good snaps as well that I'll post in a bit to share.

I will be sure to bring some cash next time so visit Mr Dehate to restock on some goodies! For some reason I only had a few Low and Mid power motors with me. The G motors I had would have put my rockets well into 3-4000 territory and given the cloud cover that was not a great idea.

After my issues yesterday with my AT reloads I need to find a new plan of attack. If anyone has suggestions for 24/40 reloads to help make them a bit more, ummm, reliable, let me know. I might try to test out the E11 here in a static fire to see what I can do to get that one lit.
