Looking for molded foam shuttle pictured in the June 2012 Model Aviation magazine

The June 2012 issue of the AMA's Model Aviation magazine pictured a rocket which separates into 3 pieces at apogee, two molded foam shuttle shaped gliders and the motor pod. It is a red whte and blue color scheme. Can anyone tell me more about this model? Kit/scratchbuild/plans? Are the gliders radio controlled in descent or free flight? Thanks!

I don't have my Model Aviation mag with me, but is it the Estes Shuttle Xpress?

No, you can't even see the motor pod at launch on this one, and the gliders look big.

Is it possible that you could be looking for these?

No, not that one either, this one looks like it may be constructed of flat foam sheet, it is very angular.

From your description it sounds like the Estes Air Show which was part of a launch set.

Unlike most of Estes's foam creations, this one flies great. I picked up a set up on eBay not long ago for about $30. There's one on eBay now at the same price.

Thank you so much! That is indeed the one and I went ahead and purchased it. I see that they are not R/C gliders but it is too cool to pass up! I will find some place to fly it
