Wanted: beta testers for next release of OpenRocket for Android

    Hi all,

The OpenRocket developers have been happily hacking away at the next release. There are lots of good things to expect in both the desktop and android versions. The major change for the Android version is allowing one to create new motor configurations and execute simulations. This feature makes the application much more useful while at the field.

I am looking for a few brave souls to help me test the Android application. I would like to get a cross section of platforms - Gingerbread, Honeycomb and ICS, phones and tablets. Please pm me with the manufacturer, model and Android version on your device. Also let me know if you have any special programming expertise since that really helps with remote debugging.

    Thanks a bunch.

    Kevin

Yeah I could volunteer for this. Just got a brand new Samsung Tablet.

L1 will have to wait until 2013. Oh well.......patience is a lost virtue any-ways...

Folks, if you want to beta test OR for Android, PM Kevin with the info he asked for in the first post.

Also, for folks who are already beta testing, contact him on the mailing list or here via PM to list results/bugs.

The Android version is primarily designed for "in the field" ops, and so won't have most of the design features of the desktop version.

Having said that, it has been awesome so far... the current build basically allows you to adjust almost all the parameters in the simulation setups that the desktop version does (motors, rod length, wind direction and speed, etc). It also allows you to plot results like the desktop version, and can show you the critical numbers (rod end speed, apogee altitude, etc).

This is going to be great for the field...

I have an Kindle Fire. I have written a fair amount of software in C, but dabble in other languages. http://www.fppda.com I would like to try beta testing.
