Anyone have any insight to field conditions. ie How tall is the corn?
Here in central IL. 3 1/2 hours south of Prinction we have some fields with 2' tall corn.
Looks like it is going to be hot. 90 degrees plus & IL. humidity. Bring lots of water.

Well Gus, the mystery has been solved, I wasn't pissed off......I could not hear what you said at the end though, you must have gone through that dead zone. Just a little more work on Carbon Nightmare 2.5....2 and it will be complete!!! I'm looking for 10,000 feet at mach 1.5 for this flight, should be cool. But it won't be anything compared to Gus's "Sam-I-Ain't" on that wimpy little N10K. I don't know what I'm saying anymore, I'm really sunburnt from being at the beach all day....yes, there actually is a beach in Illinois, WOAH! See you guys there!

By the way Gus, while you were trying to call me last night at my little "intimate get-together" with my friends, I was contmplating letting one of them answer just to confuse you. "Manny, who keeps trying to call you? Your phone is going crazy!" "Oh, it's this truck driver I met, want to talk to him?" "Ummm, how do you know a truck driver?" "I just kind of do...."

Gus is a full time rocket scientist (and a good one at that). Driving trucks is just a hobby of his.

Awesome launch!!! Had a great time this weekend. Thank you to Wildman for making it possible. Great food, great friends and great flying weather. Who could ask for more.

Gus- AWESOME flight on the N10K, videos of that motor do it NO justice.

Claude- what happened to you??? did you have to fish your rocket down from a windmill??

Manny- Sorry I cheated and more sorry to the damage to your rocket. I'm glad it was proven to NOT be your fault. BTW, I can see your rocket coming apart in my on board footage (I will post it later)

Justin- Thanks again for spending the day getting us all on film.... video please!!!

Gross's- Great to see ya again. had a great time drag racing Blackhawks.....some day I will beat you!!!

Everyone- I think we all did a great job protecting the crops from damage, we look forward to seeing you all back next month!!

Sather.........you won the drag race!! you were the only one that didn't cheat and actually flew a K2045!!

Such a great time! Had an awesome time with amazing food at Wildman's party, then the terrifying moring thereafter......you should really post that (edited, sorry, I can swear sometimes) video. Even though I had a slight *mishap* with my K2045, this was still the most fun I've ever had a rocket launch, hands down. We need to fo this more often.

Gus, your flight was THE COOLEST thing I've ever seen! Here's a video I took, it's pretty sweet!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wblbf4azi08

Yeah, I had a very spectacular shred of Carbon Nightmare 2.5, which actually turned out to be a CATO, oh well, it's an easy fix.

I had a great time, I'd love to see your video hot tub, don't take that the wrong way.................hahaha

One of the best launches I have been to in awhile! Busy enough to have a good time, slow enough to get right on the pads. Great weather and better company. Thanks to Tim and Jackie for all the hard work on the party and inviting all of us into their home.

Let me add my thanks to Tim and Jackie for hosting a super meeting, with food, in their home. I have NEVER seen a steak that thick. And many thanks also to the QCRS for an outstanding launch. Good weather, great friends, some awesome rockets thrown in. See you all in Jun.

Could have been. Instant Karma had a very easy recovery from its Mach 2.3 flight. We saw it land and I got it back after a 1/4 mile drive and a 100 foot walk

On the other hand Peak Oil popped the main at apogee and I finally recovered it a couple hours later and 5 miles NE of the launch site. Many thanks to Justin who had a similar incident at Thunderstruck. Based on how far his rocket had drifted (he flew his on a very similar motor and we had the same chute size and model) I was able to resume my search in a different location and finally find it. Not only was it far, but it was lying in low ground so I only recovered the signal once I got to within 1500 feet of it.

It was a great launch. Already looking forward to the next one...

I'm thinking Mini Midwest Power should be a new springtime tradition; what a great time! It was nice to see such a good turnout and put some more faces to names.

A big thank you to Jason, Steve, Gus, David, Larry and Sather for helping me get the Arcas prepped and racked on Saturday. A big thank you to Sather for helping with the recovery. Luckily we had a short walk

Also, thank you to Jason and Steve for helping organize the cookout and to Jackie and Tim for hosting it!

Thank you to Mike Gross for getting the barstool running again so I could almost kill myself in the dark

As most of you know the up part was great, the down part experienced some "entanglement" of the recovery system and slight damage......
    It will fly again.

The entire Gross family for bringing the most dazzling rockets and, talking drag racing too!

Claude, good too hear you got Peak Oil back! I'm still going too wish you happy birthday over a P.A. (none this weekend) someday.....my way!
To Wildman, Jackie and the rest of the Lehr family.....a VERY deep felt THANK-YOU for the incredible meal and hospitality for both myself and, my father!

Great video! Wish I could have made the launch, but I was on a wine tasting and B&B tour of Southern IL.

    Jason

Not evident on the video was the very "unique" sound the motor made coming up to pressure.....just a short bit was caught.

To me it sounded like a chorus of Buddhist monks going WOOOOOOOOOO.......Then....a big WHUMMMP!
I'm sure when Justin's pad cam footage comes out we will all get to enjoy the full effect!

[QUOTE=Jeroen_at_CTI;343072]@10:00 in the video Nice flight Gus. The K1440 flight is insane too!

Thank-you Jeroen.....With my work weeks sometimes reaching up to 80 hours, i have very little time to do both rocket construction and propellant mixing so in regard too the latter i have always turned to AMW and CTI to fill the void. Your support of us "little guys" in the hobby with email, text and the occasional phone call are why i am a devout customer!....

Sidewinder....Thank-you also for sharing this great video with all of us! I finally got a chance to see Jenny's flight (Sorry about the first time)....it looked great!

    3.....2.....1......WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....WHUMMMMP ! Man! That was worth $600........
