I am building mine, I have a build thread going in HPR. My L3C guy told me that if I am going for L3 I should be able to assemble without destructions.... I agree to a point. The Electronics Bay is what I am curious to see and the nose cone set up.

The nose cone set up is no different than any other dual deploy. The electronics bay is the only thing that is "unusual" I disagree with the L3 advise. following directions is a pretty important step in ANY project. Different story if you were building something from scratch. PM me if you want some photos of the av-bay. Tim should have the directions up soon.

Here's the point of construction that my Gizmo XL DD is at. I just slapped on the first coat of primer (of hopefully only 2). I'm going to attempt a level three certification with this at AIRfest on an M2250 C*. I have not started on the Av-bay yet, I will do that once I get a 4-grain 98mm case to test fit with.

Awesome! Now I won't have to spend the money to get my own......yet.

P.S I'll be at Bong this weekend, so if you could bring the case that would be great.

The E Bay is the part I wanted to see. I have never worked with this type of nose cone so it is new to me. Is there a RKT file for this rocket yet? Just curious. I am hoping to fly it a METRA once the waiver is back, if not then Red Glare.

From what I have seen & read here, I don't have a good feel for how typical or atypical the ebay setup is. I am considering this kit for an L3 rocket, and I don't want to have a setup that is more prone to operator (me) error than a normal setup. I don't need ANY help in that regard. I am familiar with the 'traditional' ebay setup, and I am hesitant to go too far away from that familiarity for an L3 capable rocket.

What I'd REALLY like to play with is a Rocksim file for this beast, so see what kinds of altitudes it achieves, thinking of flying it from different fields. My Darkstar Extreme will fly on an M very capably, IF you have an altitude waiver around 15-16k or more (w/ 10% added). That's great if your home field supports that kind of flight, but not terribly versatile. Being in the military and moving around, I've got to plan for the small and big fields, just in case. I'd like a big rocket that can fly on L & smaller M motors while staing below/around 10k, perhaps some EX too, but ramp up to the big N leagues when called upon. Is that the Gizmo XL DD?

I flew mine on a 4 grain 75 (EX White) and it went just over 5k. I think this will be a better bird for smaller fields and lower waivers. I would guess a M2250 will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 7-8K. I will post some more av-bay pics later today when I get home form work.
