Suggestions For A Nartrek Silver Scale Model Kit

Any suggestions which model a modeler with average construction skills should build?

You might look at the Peter Alway kits sold at Balsa Machining Services. The Arcas is a BT-50, IIRC, and is $13. There is also the Astrobee 1500 which is more complex, but is a really nice piece of engineering with laser cut parts. Heck, order both and learn with the Arcas and then progress to the more difficult Astrobee.

I was the first NARTREK chairman back in the late '70s.

ASP has a roster of pretty good-looking scale kits which should not be terrifically tough to knock off.

Semroc also has a nice lineup of scale kits ranging from relatively simple to the museum-quality Saturn 1B.

To follow up on Buzzard's post on the Peter Alway kits, his book "Rockets of the World" is literally the bible for scale model rocketeers and is a treasure trove of info on hundreds of rocket vehicles. It's utterly indispensable if you plan to build more than a couple scalers and it's tons of fun to read even if you don't. It's a bargain at $30 from NAR Technical Services.
