Red Arrow Hobbies fix your phone

Anyone gotten through to RAH lately. Fax keeps picking up my phone calls and no response to my emails. If anyone knows Dave let him know he's unreachable.....

Yes, someone should contact him to let him know that no one can contact him... (Just kidding )
At the bottom of the "contact us" page, there's a link to the RAH Facebook page, maybe you could reach him through that. http://www.redarrowhobbies.com/contact.htm

If Dave isn't in the store he sets the fax to pickup. I've been telling him for literally years that he needs an answering machine. He is at a launch this weekend so he isn't going to be around today or tomorrow. Facebook is the best bet.

That's an understatement. A lot of people don't know this but without him there would not be launches at the Three Oaks field and there probably would not be a Michiana Rocketry.

I talked to Dave twice last week once to place a motor order and then a few days later to confirm stock.

I had the same issues, so I did send him a fax....

It worked! I faxed an order, and asked him to call me to confirm, of which he did.

    Fax him.

Here is my opinion of Red Arrow Hobbies based on my recent experience with them.

I attempted to order some motor hardware on his website. I paid, the money was accepted... and I waited. And waited. And waited. After 3 weeks without receiving my order and no communication, I opened a dispute on Paypal. Then he wrote and said he was waiting on an order to be delivered that day, so I said OK he could ship it. Another 5 days later, another message came that said it took longer than he expected, he just got the product and he's ready to ship. But he wanted me to close the dispute before he shipped it. I thought to myself... "Seriously? I've already paid, and have not received the product. I'll close the dispute when I receive the item I already paid for." I was surprised that he had still not shipped, and there was still no communication with me when he did not receive the shipment on the day he said he was getting it. So I cancelled the order (and received the refund) and will not be buying from Red Arrow in the future. If he had communicated from the start that he did not have the product in stock, I could have ordered from somebody else and received the product weeks ago. Some sort of communication would be nice, instead of just taking my money and leaving me hanging wondering if somebody's trying to rip me off. And asking me to cancel the dispute before he shipped (after waiting almost an entire month) was the icing on the cake for me.

I have seen that there are some fans of Red Arrow out there, but I have also seen several complaints along these same lines about lack of communication about missing or backordered orders. I also see an "F" rating on BBB. I'm one of the unhappy ones that will go elsewhere. You've got to communicate with your customers if their order is delayed or backordered. It's just bad business not to.

FWIW, the "F" rating is based on one complaint filed in the last three years.

Yes, communication is an issue but I am unaware of anyone not receiving what they ordered.

The existence of this thread doesn't surprise me at all and I am baffled as to how they are still in business.

I ordered some stuff from them last year and after 3 months of not receiving anything coupled with promises of "it is going out this week" 10 weeks in a row, I had enough. I told the guy that this was beyond ridiculous and if I didn't get my stuff or a full refund that week, I was going to file a complaint with the Michigan Attorney General. The guy responded, and I quote, "F*** you" and hung up on me. Not coincidentally, my stuff arrived 6 days later. I had the complaint written out and ready to go, but I kept my promise and didn't send it even though I did not receive exactly what I had ordered - he had made substitutions for things (a G64 instead of a G76, for example) but they didn't bother me and I had had enough of this whole mess so I let it go. Needless to say, I will never be doing business with Red Arrow again.

But, if you like horrendous communication, lies, hostility to customers, and unconscionable delay, go ahead.

Update: I did get my refund promptly, and re-placed the order with Discount Hobby Center. The price was almost the same, plus they shipped the very same day, and provided a tracking number so I could see the progress of the shipment. I received the order (from New York to California) in 5 days. AND they threw in THREE rocket catalogs for free! Aerotech, Quest and Estes.
Now THAT is great service! Highly recommended.

Ordered about a week before the holidays - got my G10 a few days later and the motors arrived today.

Had called to confirm stock but one G138T did not make it out with the rest .

Fairly straight forward transaction - and was able to do paypal bill me later for 6 monthes same as cash.
Much better for the wife to see 5 or 6 small payments than the one lump sum purchase! Shhhh !

Thanks Dave , much quicker than my Hobbylinc experience.

Now all I need is a two or three stage rocket to burn some E12-0s in ! Didn't see anything in Estes catalog to take these.
