    ROCKET TRANSPORT BOLTS

RTB's (rocket transport bolts) are steel bolts..placed between shear pins. They thread into a t-nut on the interior of the nose cone and altimeter bay. The bolts are flagged as they must be removed when the rocket is loaded onto the launch rail. Avoid placing a RTB in-line with a rail button.
Use of RTB's greatly improves the tranport of a heavy rocket from the flight line
to the launch pad. They help prevent your shear pins from failing as you move
your rocket before launch. The steel bolts can be removed when the rocket is vertical on the pad.The heavier your nose cone and payload bay the more RTB's you can use.
For a heavy rocket adding the RTB's to a good friction fit and nylon
shear pins at your separation points is worth the time. The big caution is to flag the bolts as each bolt must be removed before launch....
Removal of the bolt from the ebay will create a static port hole (vent for the ebay)...if you want to avoid this place a cap around the inner
surface of the ebay T-nut ---------------------

    RTB's

    Good idea.

We nuked our shear pins trying to load Beer Daddy at Balls last year.
Made us "slow" at the pad, which we hate.
    This would have helped.
Mind if we steal this idea, or is it Patent Pending?

I am having trouble visualizing these bolts in use. Can you post some pictures?

    Don't have a pic but,...

Lets say you have 4 shear pins at 90/180/270/360 degrees. You place "hard" bolts at 45/135/225/315 degrees (or just 2 if thats all that is needed). They protect the shear pins from accidental rupture during transport.

    As stated,... remove for launch!
