ROC launch Lucerne Dry Lake April 14

Is anyone going to this launch, please post? I saw the stinking weather report, and it shows 10-15 MPH winds. Am I ever gonna get to launch another rocket?? I need to design a rocket that stabilizes in high wind.

My school's experimental engineering class will be there, braving the 14 F weather. The rockets they're flying aren't terribly resistant to weathercocking, though.

Anyway, just put a bigger motor in. The mass will reduce stability, and the thrust will get it up to speed faster. Only downside is the long walk afterwards.

NVM about the frighteningly cold temperature; Wunderground revised the temperature estimate to 34 degrees or so.

I just received notice from Greg Lyzenga that this launch is cancelled due to BLM permit issues. It could be as long as three months before this is resolved and we can fly at Lucerne again.
