Could someone give me dimensions on an 8 inch sono tube, and how could you cut centering rings for them? Whenever I cut rings, I get a huge mess.![]()

8" sono tube is a nominal size I believe. If you look at the tubes in the hardware store, I think they have 3 sizes that nest together but they call them all 8", and same for the other sizes. My tube has an internal diameter of almost exactly 8". (just measured it, I was thinking it was 8.25) If you go to get another for the same project, remember to bring your tape measure! as for the centering rings, I have to use a circle jig with my router and clean up the mess. You may be able to get some custom rings from Giant Leap Rocketry. Outer diameter of mine is 8.25 with length of 4'. Hope this helps.
I ordered one bulkhead of each size from GL so I have the sizes... How do you cut the rings w/ a router, and how close are the sizes with phenolic and Sono?

I'm in Florida and Lowe's and Home Despot usually have 8-12' tubes in stock for you to bring a tape into the store and measure. I think you can still order the tubes that would be coupler tubes in our world..but not in the concrete world.
Sono tubes are measured in
"ID" inside diameter, and in "OD" outside diameter. they should slip fit into each other if some prep work is done beforehand. You might have to order some tubes at the Commercial counter.
TRF correct me if I'm wrong. This about accuracy and education.

I ended up just scratch building a coupler by cutting a slot out of the tube and folding it in...
