    Who else would like...

    hey everyone,

Since many people appear to have smart phones, as I do myself, the mobile apps become quite useful especially if you have access to it most the time versus using a computer while working on stuff and trying not to get distracted. Is there anyone else would would like a mobile version of TRF, especially a free version?

How would it be different than the regular version on my phone's browser?

I'm already using Forum Runner on my iPhone and TRF supports that particular app.

Forum Runner doesn't provide for enlarging the text so the readability is somewhat lacking on the small screen. Now on an iPad that wouldn't be a problem.

There is another forum app out there but I haven't installed it. I understand that it does very similar things.

Yup, we have TRF configured to work with the ForumRunner app. The free edition of that works pretty well for normal use, I find.

On the Android version of it, there's a font size option in the Settings menu. I'd be surprised if it wasn't in the iPhone version somewhere, too.

    Cheers,

I"ve looked, Phil. I've looked. The best the iPhone can do is give you a "magnifying glass" but I really don't like reading one word at a time.

Much as I hate to admit it, I may just have to break down and buy an iPad. My young granddaughter has one and it works very well for me.

Hmm. Apparently it was only added to the iPhone version of ForumRunner in February. If you don't have version 1.5.12, you'll need to upgrade before the option for font sizes appears.

    THANKS for the tip, Phil!

I just discovered that the font sizing options were hidden under the Settings function on the app's front page and not anywhere on the reading pages.

Haven't tried that out, my data plan is kind of limited and web searches seem to take up much more than running an app

I can access TRF on my touch screen feature phone (not a smartphone) by running Opera Mini 6.5.2, which I installed to use in place of the phone's native browser. When I tap on the screen, Opera magnifies and reformats the page to make it easily readable. (My phone's native browser can also do that when I invoke the magnification feature.)
