Apogee sells a two part epoxy like the stuff you refer to.. it's just not pretty. It's called Fix It from Aves of River Falls, WI. I've used it to replace the little tip on my Estes D-Region Tomahawk and to build a Triangular Prism Rocket out of Balsa.

I was particularly lazy and didn't bevel the mating edges on the main body. I held the sides with masking tape and tacked the edges together with wood glue and then filled the corners with Fix-It. I've yet to launch it but the joints are sturdy.
