Well, thank you! I've had several comments about the fins. I wish I could take credit for their shape, but I can't. I believe it's an old Centuri design.

I masked the upper body tube for the black. I don't remember who gave me the tip, but I sprayed the masking tape with the base color first to help prevent bleeding under the tape.

My nephew painted one of the fins on his Centurion black, and I like the look. So I did the same on the XL.

I'm going to count this as one of my few paint victories. Turned out pretty good! Take that, cruel mistress!

(I'd better be careful, I might be tempting fate.)

These are the only real problems I had, and I can accept them. If a bug has to land in your wet paint, this is the best place for it to do it.

Not exactly sure when you painted, but if today, it seems the overcast brings out more bugs. Possibly this is because the paint dries more slowly allowing more time for bugs to stick.

Taking some poetic liberties with Sheldon Cooper's famous quote in The Big Bang Theory: "Paint, thou art a heartless b*tch".

I painted this afternoon. The only bug is the one that landed on the masking tape. And yes, I would have preferred "heartless b*tch", but didn't think it was appropriate.

Got the main decal on. If I'd been smart, I'd have had him trim around the perimeter leaving just a narrow border. Oh well, it still looks good.

I finally got to launch Centurion XL at the SARG launch yesterday. Photos and videos are in my launch report.
