    What's up with Performance Rocketry?

Tim's gained rights to some of their kits - Liberty Launch has a cryptic message about components only...

I know we're outside the loop here in the desert, so I haven't heard much of anything (Yes, I did do a search, found nothing).

What's going on? should I order some kits while I still can?

    All the best, James

Performance Rocketry is a manufacturer of reasonably priced composite rocket kits. While their kits are good and reasonably priced, they are a small company and appear to be easily overwhelmed by individual orders so their custormer service has a reputation to be lacking. To avoid frustration and other problems, savy customers order from a distributor who actually the kit they want to purchase in-hand. I'll speculate Liberty Launch Systems is out of Perfromance Rocketry kits and is waiting for their next alllocation.

Be patient and order from a vendor who has the kit you want to purchase in-stock.

I assume that Performance won't be making anymore kits, just cranking out parts for other distributors (Rocketry Warehouse, Wildman, etc.). I would also assume that Tim would then retroactively provide all owners of Competitors and Intimidators with Filament Wound cones (so that means I have a 3", 4" and 5" on the way...)

okay, time to unravel the teaser... i.e. the word BIG is all in caps, with an exclamation point attached. So.... I'm gonna guess a really big kit?

    Bob:
PR may be small in comparison to such companies as say GE but in the rocketry world? Their as big as Apple!

In 2011 alone PR manufactured 3000 plus! kits let alone components, A company that employs 4 full time employees and works close to 7 days a week is a conglomerate in the rocketry business.

Most people know I work pretty close with Curtis but it's going to have to be him that reveals whats on the horizon, What I can say is to keep an eye on http://www.performancerocketry.com/ as there will be more updates there as early as this Sunday.

Rest assured though as both the Mach buster & scale fliers alike will be very happy!

Or, put another way, Curtis trusts Gary, and Gary's not about to blow that by divulging information without permission.

So, give those involved a chance to get things in order, and they'll announce it as quickly as they can.

Sounds to me that I will be sending some more money. I myself would like to see more semi-scale kits in all sizes. Hopefully PR won't forget about the guy who can't fly a lot of big motors. At our launches motor sizes H-J are the most popular.
    Thanks PR

Wow glad to hear Tim is now the owner of the Intimidators. I purchased a 3" Intimidator last year and modified the fins into DarStar fins. Now I have a rare 3" DarkStar that I can brag about without fear of "copyright Click image for larger version.

Ok Gary I will just set here all day waiting of rthe great news from PR. I do have my Gizmo XL ready for paint. What would you think the smallest reload one should fly in the G-XL? For my first flight I am thinking of a CTI 54 4 grain C-Star reload.

1 1/2 hrs later, and still no joy..

Will this 'update' bring "much rejoicing to the land"? Or is it going to be a "put your credit cards in a safe secure location BEFORE visiting the website" event?

Guess I will find out when I get home from work tonight!
