    raven brown out?

    am i reading this file correctly? i had a brownout failure on main deployment... charge did not go off... luckly i had a blow it out or blow it up charge in apogee section that put the main out at the top.

    No you did not have a brown out. If you had your computer would have reset or you would have no data.

    Looking at the data, when your apogee charge went off and deployed the main, then the rocket was coming down under the main chute. Apparently it was spinning because the accel was reading 1.7 Gs of upward acceleration. At about 40 seconds after liftoff, those Gs added up enough that on-board velocity estimate went higher than 400 feet/second, locking out further deployments on that channel (Mach inhibit). If your main hadn't deployed at apogee, the Raven would have fired the main charge at 700 feet.

    Also note that it's pretty much impossible to brown out a Raven due to a deployment, because even if each of the 4 channels completely shorts the battery during its 1-second output, the on-board supercapacitor can keep the Raven running for about 8 seconds with no power input at all.

    we did have good winds. so essentially it was tricked into thinking my rocket was going up. must remember my shear pins next time.
