    I think it may be a bit of a knee jerk reaction to blame the labyrinth cooling system for all of these recovery issues.

    If you don't like it, don't use it. Loc Precision also offered cooling mesh add-ons for their kits several years ago. I used them regularly with no issues.

    This recovery component by Aerotech has been around for twenty years or so and I think the term "worthless" may be a bit harsh.

    Personally, I have an Initiator that has over fifty flights on it and has worked great. I did do as instructed in cleaning the mesh occasionally. This instruction is at least as clear as the one saying to make sure you check motor retention and recovery system attachment.

    My advice to anyone buying a new Aerotech kit is to use the mesh "as directed" and you won't have any issues. I saw several lawn darts at the last launch I attended. I don't think any of them were Aerotech kits.

    Just trying to keep it real.
