Anyone care to guess what's in the box? Showed up in my office on Monday.

Shouldn't be too hard to figure out. For perspective, the Mercury Redstone behind it is about 6 feet tall.

Dont have a clue whats in the box.
But by the looks of things, that wall charger isnt going to be big enough.

Decals for a 90% Harpoon?:D:D:D

Still interested? Check your e-mail.

Hey, don't knock the wall charger! Sitting right in front of the little redstone with three antenna's is a portable frequency jammer. I use it for board meetings to keep my ADHD Venture Capital board members from spending the entire time looking at their blackberrys. Proven to be very effective.

Here's the first hint.... I posted this in the oddroc section

Art Applewhite's new 36" Delta flying saucer!

I asked him if I could commission a larger version after my 18" decided to go pyrotechnic on the pad (here: https://www.rocketryforum.com/showthread.php?t=28181). Turns out he had already been beta testing a 36" version for M motors.

This is his Beta with a Loki M1200-SF

I've asked him if I could do a build thread. Should be fun.

It's a trick. The box is the rocket. A very odd rocket, and inside is only air.

At least, I'm hoping, because I wan't to see it made to fly.

Criminy! That think looks like trying to make a parachute fly upward!

Anything can be launched. We're rocketeers.

Bread, Flat Bread?

I WANNA see this build.. thats one MONDO saucer.. and remember, every Art Applewhite rocket comes with a free 29mm stealth, just 'reuse' that packing box..

My guess at 'whats in the box' would have been 'a very crumpled mega pizza'

Actually, my guess was going to be a motor mount and a parachute! I would like to see someone make a cardboard box like that fly.

BTW, how high will that saucer go?

On a Loki L789-SF it went to 725 feet according to the "Altimeter One" I had tape to the top of it. I flew it again on a Loki M1200-SF but didn't tape an altimeter to it for that flight. I estimate it went to 1200 feet. There is a video of the L flight here: https://artapplewhite.com/36delta.html
