So I got another one done here... First true mid powered rocket(Of course its a scratch build!)
LOC 3.00" tube and NC, 34'' tube, 11'' nose cone!
It has a 24mm engine mount and weighs around 18 ounces.First flight will be Low and Slow on an E20-4w.
1/8 Kevlar shock cord around 11 feet long.
TTW main fins out of 3/32 balsa, pretty strong. Their up an inch from the bottom to protect the fins from landing first.
The chute will probably be an estes 24" Saturn V red/white chute.
More pics in a minute.

Here are the extra pics... Close up of the fins, The motor mount and the simple motor retention system(masking tape)-That wraps around the mount and the thrust ring for a very firm hold, and a pic of the shock cord.
Also the centering rings are home made out of cardboard. I used a coupler and traced around it to get the right diameter and cut 3 of them out, One in the back, one in front of the fin tabs and one on the top.

Very cool designs!
Something to try on your video rockets. Have four shock cord attachments (or three spaced equilaterally.) You can do this with a coupler (or just cut a piece of body tube so you can roll it inside, and attach your shock cords to that.) Put a spill hole in the chute (may want to use a larger chute than you normally would.) The spill hole keeps the chute from oscillating back and forth. The multiple connections keeps the lines from twisting. This will give you a stable controlled descent and the descent videos are cool.![]()

Mhmmm, I will have to think about that. I got the up part good..., but the down part is a little twisty.
