Nice looking Sat V ,I finished mine last summer ,did a little mini build here somewhere.

I found after a little practice and experimentation ,airbrushing became pretty easy ,and when it comes to scale plastic models ,it makes all the difference in the world.

    Have fun !

Holy smokies, lucky you live down in sunny Florida so you can get those babies off the ground nearly year round.

That is a massive collection of some awesome looking rockets.

    Got the S.S.L.E. Eagle painted!

    1. Rocket stack on the pad
    2. 3-24mm engines, boosters have C11-3s, core has D12-5
    3. boosters fall off in flight!
    4. each booster has it's own chute and fins
    5. The main with out boosters

She sure does have enough fins, 14 total!

    Here's a full write up....

Man, that is quite a collection!
    Cool.

    Smile Scratch built

All I can tell u is, there's nothing like building it from "scratch"! I've enclosed a pic of my latest creation, "Astron Starlight," which came out in 1967-1972. Original paint scheme too, w/transparent paint. Do a search for "Free" model rocket plans; send for parts, or make them, and get started! That's how u learn. If unsure, build a few kits first. Maybe a level 2-3. I'm also a "scroller", anacronym for scroll-sawer. "Google" scroll-saw. Found it invalueable cutting out rocket parts from plywood.

    Another one!
Heres my latest creation out of 4 1'' in. diameter tubes....

The rocket is 3 feet tall and is around 10 oz, fully loaded.
It can hold up to 6 smoke bombs, that are lit right before launch, they are 1'' in. diameter.
The smoke bombs smoke for around 7-10 seconds.
the inside tube is like 26mm so i just wrap a bit of tape to secure the engine.
The first flight was with a C11-3, which gave it a 150' high flight. D12 will be better.
Ejection gases go through holes in the sides of the tubes to the top of the rocket.
This is the second smoke bomb rocket made.
Its good because it doesn't even get warm, and with 3 or more of them the rocket disappears!

My rockets usually fly naked. If they survive, they earn their paint.

Come fly with ROSCO or ICBM in Orangeburg SC => http://rocketrysouthcarolina.com
