Well the orange is done ! Now it`s time for some curing of the paint (enamel orange portion) before the vinyl goes on.I`d like to wait a good week so as to let the paint harden up a bit.

    Thanks for looking

Thankyou sir ! Yes ,the painting season is here and things are getting done (I`m going to need room for the upcomming winter projects)

I do also hope things go better next HP launch ,but I`ve been fortunate ,my Photon Probe is the only HP rocket that took a turn for the worse .but it`s ready to fly along with this new upscale.

    Take care

You are quite right - it was the Photon Probe not Photon Disruptor.

I'm old and and can't remember crap.

How do you think I feel LOL

If the paint seems hard/harder in a few days ,I might try ,but from past experience (you know ,burnish marks in the paint) I may play it safe.

    Stay tuned Mark.

OBTW- going to need some custom work for a certain "Hellfire" project i`m doing soon ,just need to pickup my BlueTube in the US tomorrow (the nosecone i already have)

Been a whole lotta moon's come and gone since I was a F-106 Crew Dog at Castle AFB with the ADC 84th FIS. MANY moons...

So IIRC we had 2 IR and 2 radar guided Falcons on the four internal rails, and of course the motherload Genie in the center of the bay. All pneumatically actuated - rails and bay of course.

    Damn I was young then...

F-106 ,man they don`t make them like that anymore (Mirages withstanding) ,any of those "Century Series" aircraft were the coolest.I have a nice little 1/48 scale 106 all loaded up with Falcons.

Man I like Falcons (yup ,that`s on the drafting table too )

I just turned 51 ,not all that old ,but i`m starting to feel it after a day on the construction site !!

Did you use the wet method for applying the vinyl? It looks like that cross fin band could have been tricky.

No sir ,peel and giver `er !

Actually ,I burnished the graphic first ,then use aluminum angles and low tack masking tape to align everything ,cut the individual parts to within a 1/16" in a straight line along the decal edge ,peel and carefully place and burnish.

I noticed that if any air bubbles show up ,they will go away with time and heat ,although bigger ones can be pricked with an exacto knife.

The water method is probably the way to go ,but i`m lazy and want results NOW LOL

Those bands can be a bugger ,but careful alignment and NO pressure on the vinyl until things are lined up is a must ,cause once those things hit that glossy finish....BOOM...stuck and stuck good !

Never had a problen as yet.

    Cheers

These are from my "man`s quarters" (my sister ,who is an interior designer, was AGHAST to see the camo decor of my room.....oh well LOL)

Thanks for having a look and the patience for all the pictures ,I`ll try to cut down next time (ah ,probablt not)Hopes it`s not like the old "family vacation"snap shots we all hate and dread.

    That`s all folks ,thanks
