I'll admit it, that's my, uh, "handiwork."

In my defense, I used a brush to do the application. The spoon was for mixing water into the CWF. (It's what I had on hand.) But that's really no excuse for how thick I applied the filler.

It's a learning process, which is continuous... my next build will be much better, thanks in no small part to following this thread.

Your finished Mean Green rocket looks very good. For those interested in seeing the fruit of rbelknaps efforts, go to:

I usually use a glue stick. Cheap and no fumes.

Not sure. I use them because I have them for filling receipts with my expense reports. They work very well for paper to paper. Nothing important or permanent like printing & adding the company logo to your rockets. Doesn't adhere well to the painted round surface of a body tube.

Elmers GP glue sticks are made of a non-toxic synthetic polymer. I assume that means that no horses or cows are used in the formula?

The template is stuck to the foam board in such a mannor as to create a six pointed star. This leaves more foam board around the fin tips for the needed strength in this area of the fin guide.

The paper corners of the template that overhang the foam board are removed to achive that 'sporty' fin guide look.

What would match the O.D. of a BT-60 perfectly?

The I.D. of another length of BT-60 after it has been cut into halfs, thirds or quarters.

The I.D. of the concave sanding block needs to be prep'd to get the desired results on the rockets BT.

I've read your post regarding turning up the corners of the sandpaper. Do you also sand down the inside of the block to keep the diameter the same once the sandpaper is applied?

Thanks for all the great info. I may not jump in here very often, but I am learning a lot.

A aluminum angle was used to extend a line down both sides of the tube to mark the halfs.

Cut the tube with a knife or sizzors. The cut will leave a burr on the I.D. Sand the burr off all the I.D. edges.
