Nice job putting it together. Hopefully you'll get a ton of participants.

My son's 8 can he play? He even designed and help build the rocket.....if we couldn't chunk punkins, we're gonna chunk a egg.... La revedere de duvlec style! Twin G-80's rule!

cbrarick: My son's 8 can he play?

Definitely , I changed Group 1 to "Age 14 and under". More the merrier.
.... Seems like we may have a few? Do you have a young Wildman in Training over there?
--------
cwbullet:Hmm...I have the mentality of a 14 yr old - does that count?
Maybe I could do a Bragging rights adult "King of the Egg Chuckers" at LRDS? Just listening to the voices in my head right there......
BUT
In the past when I try a contest for adults.... I get a few Pink-book-lawyer types that really take all the fun out of the festivities.

..

LDRS (TRA) or NERRF (indy) may be your best two places to do an adult one...after all, the pink book is NAR and they don't play that way....just make up some rules and post em....if you want to play, you play: otherwise don't

It doesn't get any easier then that..

Yup northeast only.
Some day when I'm Rich and famous (not just infamous) maybe I can take a tour of North American Rocketry. But for now, in this economy, I have to keep it to where I can drive back and forth.

.

Cool! I'm going to see if my 9 year old is interested in trying this out...will be his/my first time at a rocket launch besides our own...he told me recently that he wanted to be an engineer..this may be of great interest to him!

dlazarus6660 : No, I'll supply the eggs and they won't be boiled. But your young ones can build some sort of super ultra modern fighter-craft to hold the egg!

--------------
Egg lofter Design

Here's some food for thought. A very Simple egglofter. Not super aero or elegant. But it works. It can be made cheap enough that anyone can build one.

Simple parts list:
BT-50
Scrap balsa for fins and standoffs
Plastic Easter Egg (nose cone)
Launch lugs
Parachute, elastic cord
Motor block (can make from sliver of spent motor case)
Nose Cone shoulder ( made from same spent motor case)
...fly this baby all day on 24mm motors.

If you don't have "Openrocket" design and sim program.... go download it. I also believe (but could be wrong) that .ork files can be read in Rocksim.

Happy building!

Breaking news April 28, 2012 launch.
CMASS launch for the 28th : moved site to Berwick Maine.

Well now, I guess the CMASS launch has been diverted to M3 ‘s field.
So that gives everyone another opportunity to launch eggs!

I’ll bring at least a dozen of the little egg-stronaughts, But I may need to know a local source of chickens if a lot of people want to chuck eggs up there.

SEE YA Tomorrow!
