    Smile Looking to buy Altimeter

    Hi everyone.

I'd like to buy an altimeter, and considering it will be the first time I will be using one, any kind will do. I would prefer to be at least a single deployment one.

    Thanks in advance.

Don't know where they can ship, but...

I've got one of the new, PerfectFlite Stratologger altimeters, and it's about as user friendly and reliable an altimeter as you could ask for. Also, for a little more $$$, the Featherweight Raven and Av-Bays are a really seemless combo. The data off of a Raven is incredible, but you can drop it in a rocket av-bay without hooking it up to a computer at all.

I'm not interested in them being extra light, I make pretty powerful motors, I think the Perfectflite would be ideal for me. SO, is yours for sale?

    Altimeter

You can not go wrong with either a raven or perfect flight, but I would recommend an adept. It $39.

    German Altimeter

I can only recommend to you the Altimax series.
German quality product, designed and made in Germany, fantastic precision and versatility (pyro, servo). To be honest, I am a user and not the owner, so this is not advertisement but my conviction, best altimeters worldwide. And cheap.

    check http://www.rocketronics.de/node/4

Of course you may need some help it is all in German..send Louis a mail he will help.

I have an extra Perfect Flight Hi alt 45k that I paid about $80 for. http://www.apogeerockets.com/dual_event_altimeter.asp.

It is no longer in production. I've used it about 5 times. Still works with no problems. I'll let it go for $40, plus international shipping which looks to be about $14 to Romania. PM me if interested.

I noticed you already ordered one. But in general, there are some European distributors out there selling US brands. So you may not order in the US in any case.

    Hello again.

It seems i find myself in need of a new altimeter, since the one from Mark H became 2 un-useful halfs of altimeter
So, any kind will do, as long as it's functioning and has apogee deployment capabilities

P.S. See the launch video below:

The altimeter is a little to "capable" for my taste :P

I'm looking for something more likely to fit in my student budget

    Thx for the suggestion, anyway

I used a couple of the adept 22 altimeters last weekend as backups. They worked perfectly.

@MadMe-- be sure to ground test your altimeter and ejection charge combination before using them. You may need to make a small vacuum chamber to test the altimeter.

    Good Luck!

The Adept 22 has already been mentioned. Adept itself doesn't ship outside of the US, but there are some resellers that offer it too:
    http://rocketrywarehouse.com/product...roducts_id=356
    http://www.cdimodelrocketry.com/prod...p?prod=ADEPT22

The Altimax G2 Simply, that was inspired by the Adept 22, is similar but a bit more expensive.

The documentation and homepage is in German, but the device is simple enough that online translation services should be feasible.

Well, my first one got split in 2 halves due to a crash, and the second one was forever lost, along with the entire rocket,
witch was never found after it's first flight... :|
