Vectran thread instead of kevlar?

Has anyone used vectran thread instead o kevlar for shock cords? A guy selling camping supplies is selling 500 foot rolls of each on ebay. He claims the vectran is stronger than Kevlar. The Kevlar he sells looks to be about 100 pound thread based on the diameter. The Vectran isn't rated, but appears to be about the same size. He makes no claims that it is good for rockets, but the strength and heat resistance seem to be better than Kevlar.

Anyone have any experience with this stuff?

While Vectran(R) is 25% stronger than Kevlar(R) (not that it matters that much), it does not have the temperature resistance of Kevlar(R). Vectran(R) melts ~600F whereas Kevlar(R) does not melt, but slowly decomposes at 900F, so Vectran(R) is not a good substitute for Kevlar(R) in a shock cord applications IMO.
