    Vendor announcements for ROCKETS Magazine

Hello rocketry vendors/manufacturers, Dick Stafford here. I have been recruited by the ROCKETS Magazine editors to prepare the Product News section for the magazine. If you would like to have one of your new(ish) products featured in an upcoming issue, please drop me a PM. I'll provide an email addy for future correspondence.

I'd be happy to accept a product announcement or to write something up based on your website. If the latter, I will need your go-ahead to use that material. I can use images from websites, however, higher resolution copies would be appreciated. If you provide a press release, I may have to edit it for length, etc.

My first submission is due about mid-October. I look forward to hearing from you!

    TIA,

    Dick Stafford

I'd like to thank the vendors who sent me something! My first input to ROCKETS went in and it looks like it is a go. Probably won't be in print until next year, but what can ya' do? It is, after all, free advertising.

I will be submitting again in a couple of months so will need to start filling out my line-up by around Thanksgiving. I will also be working with Rocketry On-Line. This means that I can use stuff from there and it also means I will submit items.

For you vendors who don't generally write formal 'press releases', I will be happy to put them together. The ones that are in-between the magazine submission cycles and those who don't make it to the magazine will find a home on ROL. I will need some input. This can be from a website or, when details aren't available, they can be emailed to me. For those who already have my addy, please send them on! Everyone else can PM me and I'll provide my direct email.

    Thanks again,

    Dick

Manufacturuers, I still have a couple of slots left for my mid-December submission. If you have new(ish) products of interest to the high power community and would like exposure in the magazine, please PM me so I can give you my direct email.

To those who previously sent stuff, rumor is that it is on the presses.

    Scott,

My mid-December input is in and will be used (I think) for the LDRS issue. Your lugs are in there. I'm not involved in the publication schedule but if it isn't announced by then, I'll ask Bob at the Jan. launch. Unless it snows or is really freezing, that is.

My next scheduled input is in mid-Feb. Sooner if they try to play catch-up in early 2012.

    Don,

My general needs are about 150 words of text describing your product. A little more is fine, I will edit it as required. I also need one high resolution photo of the product. You may send more if you'd like, and they can be used when published on-line on ROL (Rocketry-online).

There are no strict content requirements. You can look at the product news items on ROL to get some ideas of what's needed. Here's one example: http://www.rocketryonline.com/module...rticle&sid=523

The ROCKETS schedule got a little out of whack last year. I will be putting together my next input next month. While in the magazine's queue, we can publish it on ROL.

    Thanks for your interest!

PS - To be clear, most entries published in the magazine will be products that are of interest to the HPR community...kits, parts, electronics, etc. Mid- and low-power can be considered, but I'm not sure how many will be accepted. (I just send stuff in, the editors have the final say-so.) Again, everything sent in will go up on-line.
