Product Review

Product: Duplicolor Acrylic Enamel Flat White, 12 oz. (340g) spray can

Cost: ~$4 US

Conditions: Outdoors, 98+F, 88%+ humidity, late afternoon, direct sun light

Item Painted: Estes Photon Disruptor

Application: Applied 4 coats w/i 1 hour 10 minutes apart, no runs or drips, consumed nearly one can

Opinion: Considering I used nearly 1 can and still had dark spots from the Duplicolor hotrod primer dark gray, I'm not happy with the result. Then I had to wait 7 days before I could recoat with something else. Sprayed well and easy. The rotatable nozzle can be handy, but I could easily live without it.

Conclusion: Not worth the cure time for the quality of coverage.

Agreed, white is a pain!

I usually do this:

Rusto gray auto filler primer; dry sand next day.
Valspar white primer (from Lowes usually, not the one that says "enamel" on it)
Anytime 1 hour afterwards or later:
Rustoleum or Valspar White Lacquer. Two coats within 10 mins of each other.

On warm days, feel free to tape it off for subsequent colors after 1.5 hours.
