Check out one of the Wildman Darkstars. A guy in our club did his L-3 last Fall with one.

I'll second the Extreme Darkstar. Love mine. Extreme Wildman can do it as well. If you can get the X-celerator with a 75mm mount, it will to. The Dominator 4 as well.

Basically, any of the recent 4" fiberglass kits with a long enough 75mm motor tube can probably fit the bill.

True...they all have the durability (if built properly) to serve you well for an L3 project and many have done L3's on a 4" rocket; that's not the issue. The issue is to be leery of your club's waiver; you don't want to exceed it. A 4" fiberglass rocket on an M could push 12,000+ ft. My L3 was 6" diameter & 40lbs pad weight fully loaded and it climbed to 7000ft on an AMW 75/6000 load. A 4" on the same load will be about 1/2 that weight and with less wind resistance due to the smaller diameter = significantly greater altitude than 7k.

Wildman was taking pre-orders for the Dominator kit.

I picked one up from Rocket Warehouse and it's one of the nicest kits out there!

It is: 4.0" dia x 8ft tall profusion tubing ( carbon impregnated fiberglass tubing).

    My 4.0" Competitor on a 75mm x 3500 load does 12k.....
    Try more like 14k.
