im just getting into this hobby,im into alot of scientific hobbies,i bought a few estes rockets and have had a blast with them ,can i use the ignition wire from like a b4-4 on a c6-5 ? are they universal, or are they all specific to the rocket engine, these are bought engines ? sorry for the newb questions ,thanks

yes you can the estes igniter is the same- however the plugs are engine specific and color coded, each plug will only work with 1 or 2 engines

The little paper packet that comes with the engines has a key to tell you which plug color goes with which motor.

The little plugs are simply an easy way to get the igniters to stay in the engines. In the old days we didn't have them, we used little balls of rolled up recovery wadding stuffed into the nozzle with a pointed object such as the end of a ballpoint pen.

Or tape.

Might have been a "newb" qstn but ANY qstn is still worth asking---

More important thing to remember is to not let the bare igniter wires touch. That will short-circuit the igniter and the electric pwr will not get to the tip, where you need it. So however you do it (plug, wad, tape) whatever works is the right answer
