T4 Alien Space Probe was the next kit downscale using 1/16" skewer sticks for the landing gear.
Decided to use School bus yellow just to make it a bit different. Very Zippy off the pad even at T4, I haven't been able to catch it with my digital camera yet but we'll keep trying it's a fun flyer for sure. 1/2" x 18" yellow teflon tape Streamer/wadding keeps it coming back for more:)

I built an Estes Alien Space Probe kit in 1990/91.

I decided to take it to NARAM-33 in Illinois and make it's first flight. The weather was pretty random during the week of NARAM and the day I decided to fly the A.S.P. it rained.

I still have yet to fly my Alien Space Probe.

Mine has flown twice, and suffered major damage on both flights. The first flight damage came when the nose cone rebounded back into a fin and absolutely confettied it. I rebuilt it, then tried to apply the decals, which disintegrated when I tried to get them off of the backing paper. Second flight came at B6-4 Field last fall, a rare C6-3 flight. Trouble as soon as it left the rod, as the rocket immediately flew back over us and crossed US 27. Nothing good can come from that. True to form, the ASP landed hard on an asphalt parking lot, losing a leg and a foot. I have yet to repair it, although I think it's inevitable.
