Got my very first Micros today!

Fliskit Stinger, Honest John and Crayon. Can't wait to start building them. I think it will make me cross-eyed, though.

What's the best way to paint them? Seems like rattle cans might be overkill. Maybe an airbrush?

I just love showing mine off!

    The real one.
    The micro.

I went with the test round colors, so I could find it. The olive drab is difficult in grass.

Rattlecan painting isn't overkill at all.
of the 150+ different micro models in my fleet all but a handful have been built and finished exactly like any other standard size model rocket.

My only caution in finishing is to remember weight is the enemy, If using primer sand just about all if it off. Keep the Coat count as low is practical and think through the finishing process before adding the first bit of color

I'm with Blackjack on the Honest John, the Test round colors are much more interesting then the Olive drab production rounds. The Red,white & Black pattern has to be one of my favorites. Stinger and Crayon also can be done in some pertty impressive colors. Not Jims Crayons but his wraper could be altered as well

The problem we're having with the Honest John is the white decals.

One approach I am thinking about is to remove the decals and knock the price down a tad. The main reason I am thinking of that approach is that most of my feedback is that folks are painting the HJ in the test round colors and not the military olive color so they aren't using the decals anyway. For those who wish the military decoration, they could get some form of decal or dry transfer lettering else where.

    Thoughts?

I think I will go with the olive drab on the first Honest John and get another for the test colors. It does look really nice with the test colors.

Being that it's too cold here in the northeast to do any painting (my last couple of rattle can jobs came out miserably), I was thinking of brush-painting the little buggers. No primer, just a little Testors.

I don't mind at all. I need to go back and look. I didn't notice it when creating the MMX gallery a few minutes ago.

That's weird. Yours is identical to the one I created. I wonder if the software saw them with same name and same content and just ignored me.

    That happens a lot...the ignoring.

After reviewing our decal status and talking with a few customers we have decided to re-introduce the MTTM Honest John without decals and with the price knocked down to reflect that change.

So, the HJ is back in stock! Buy early, buy often. We'll make more
