1st Delta IV Heavy From VAFB

    http://spaceflightnow.com/delta/d352/status.html

Showcases the launch of the first Delta IV Heavy at Vandenberg AFB. This pad was to launch the Space Shuttles (SLC-6).

Looking for a Monday January 17th afternoon launch if weather and technical issues play out favorably.

the Shuttle SLC-6 photo gallery was neat. Are you out at Vandyland supporting the launch? I hear there are some really good hole in the wall restaurants out there. Not that I can remember where they are or the names.

Yes, launch now set for the 20th..those pesky last minute technical issues sprung up.

Restaurants: Jocko's and The Hitching Post are my favorites....if my wife was here she wouldn't set foot in the places by outside appearance but awesome food. Jocko's Filet is about 5 inches thick, definately a two day meal.

Jocko's in Nipomo and The Hitching Post in Casmilia and Buellton

Cool! I'll look at that when I get home. I threw something together with 4 boosters (more is better) that sims to 20,000' on five 54mm L's. I'll post that later as well. The only problem is where to put the launch lugs....

Mine file is nothing that big its only a BT80 model but you should be able to take those measurements and make it any size you want out of it they are faily close to the original using off the shelf parts.

It was good video, though not long. The feed is active again, now, but just a test pattern until 2:42 PM central.

I am almost postivie I saw Moose in a back row.

All the hardcore rocket fanatics went to the corner of our facility and watched. Not ver spectacular from Long Beach since it's just a steam condensation trail.

Solids have a much brighter flame and leave a darker trail.

It was also mid-day, so no twilight effect.

I was just 8 miles away outside our Launch Control Room. Since I was out here supporting our VAFB guys I got the first chance to actually see one with my own eyeballs outside. The sun angle was bad for us until the contrail blocked the sun for a few minutes during the post strap-on flyout.

My Blackberry did capture a couple of useful images.
