I built a Super DX3 about a year ago. it was an AWESOME kit. i didn't think 3 fins and a nose cone could get any better.. but I guess I was wrong..

After a little altimeter problem at MWP I zippered the HECK out of mine. I contacted Mike at Madcow and told him I would need a few parts to fix her up.
He said Why fix that one I got something BETTER.

I asked him "Better than the Super DX3?"

"Yep how about an ALL filament wound Fiberglass 4" super DX3?"

"I'm in... ship it"

Well fist off ALL the parts were just straight up AWESOME. so smooth great fit, And everything I needed to build a KILLER rocket.

I hooked it up with a Featherweight Raven and Perfectflite MAWD, plus it got "Blast Caps" from Gary Tortora.. then it got ALL K and S HArness and recovery including flame proof blankets, Sewn harness lines and Chute.. lastly it gets an aeropack 54mm retainer.. YEP IT's 54mm Standard.. this baby is going to ROCK!

Then it got a coat of Primer, a light sanding and a coat of Duplicolor White.

Then a custom paint mask by me and it got several coats of metallic Orange. REALLY METALLIC (the pics don't do it justice) after that it got custom striping and vinyl decals in Orange Sequin Holographic and chrome..

Honestly this is the BEST rocket I have EVER built. strong tough, Looks AWESOME great paint.. out and out my best ever..

I can't wait to put it up on a K454 Skid as soon as we thaw out.

Looks good. Is that the one you want me to crap up with an engine bell?

If you do come to spudroc, please bring this :D

I would ask you to bring the skid with you too, but now sparkies on our BLM land.

We will see what happens. I just might show up. all depends on how my next court date goes.. (ex wife BS don't ever have one:kill:)

Hmmmm, I dunno. We'd have to lengthen the motor mount for it to work. Might be best to hookup from start to finish on a new bird.

thats what I was worried about. I could lengthen the motormount. but it would take a little work.

I could but an old 54mm motor in it with a piece of motor tube. so the two but up then wrap some glass around BOTH so they hold together..

I will know for the next build! thanks tom

It's doable. I just don't want it to look like an after thought.

LOOKS AWESOME Mark!!!

Is that the Duplicolor paint??

That one puts your blue one to shame. Just goes to show ya, sometimes a failed flight happens for a reason!!

Yep and Yep..

I found our Local Autoparts store carries duplicolor. So I actually have a supply I DON'T have to drive 25 miles to get! I am hooked it went on NICE and looks Great.

They also carry the stuff that use Spray with your gun... So this summer I am going to give that a try

Here`s my MadCow Super DX-3. This baby is such a great flier ,and easy to build.
I flew mine on a CTI 123 Skidmark and a 382 I 170 Classic ,both great motors for this bird.Next HP event I`ll throw in a J and see how it does.

Paul your rockets always look so good. It's no wonder they fly great as well!

Yeah that's a gorgeous rocket, way to make us prairie folk proud :) I have a Super DX 3 on order, and of course I'm having a ton of fun working with Mark at stickershock to get a unique look for her.

There are 4 guys in our club that have DX-3s ,and all fly straight and true (3FNC...can`t go wrong)

Yup ,living on the prairies has it`s bonuses.....miles and miles to launch from ,except for that tree in the background that seems to taunt us during launches .

Enjoy your DX-3 build !

Just finished my Madcow Super DX3. I added a 4"x12" electonic bay from K and S Rocketry and the decal is from Stickershock23. Plan to launch it next month on a L1 Cert attempt.
