I got mine at AIRfest 18 with a Wildman Gizmo named "Fat Ass Glass" on a CTI K940 White Thunder. It was pretty cool!

Here is my son's Level 2 Certification flight. It was at the Oregon Rocketry Desert Heat launch on July 27th, 2013.
The rocket is a Binder Design Sentinel. Motor was an AT J500G. (photos by Gary Goncher)

(Don't look at me... I only have a L1 certification)

L2 Cert

Tripoli Mid Ohio, South Charleston Launch Site, 8 Dec 2018 28 deg F, wind out of the west @ 8-12mph

Loki J-712 Blue to 5078’, Burn 1.35 sec, 476 mph, 19.84Gs, Coast to Apogee 14.65

I wanted a good High G push off the pad for this stubby Ultra Fatboy! I put 6 oz in the longer fiberglass nosecone. The sim had the CP to CG just shy of 1 caliber.

The sim had the flight to 5154’ @ 15.1 sec. Not bad!

As expected a hard push off the pad then a pleasing coast to apogee. Straight as an arrow flight. Drogue-Less with Jolly Logic Chute Release @ 600

My BigRedBee tracker had it heading down range just shy of .5 miles. Visually acquired under canopy downwind for a successful recovery!

My L2 was on a MAC Performance 4" ARCAS (build thread) with a CTI J400 at the November 2017 Tri Cities Rocketeers launch.

The photo below is of a flight in Sept 2018 on a K270, as a photo of the cert flight does not exist.

"Things From the UPS Store"
j270 white DMS
3000ft noseblow, JLCR @300ft
BAMA annular, OBH 2-loop harness

Notable only because I built it in 24hrs or so the day before LDRS -- Big Daddy nosecone, some hand-drilled plywood CRs, a couple of mailing tubes, an old car seat strap, woodglue, superglue, JB weld.MVIMG_20190827_201923.jpgMVIMG_20190830_152814.jpgIMG_20190901_132423.jpgIMG_20190901_132444.jpg

I should make a few of those decals for myself and others. We could perhaps add them to the surviving aquatic rockets.

Now why didn't I think of that? Okay, it's a deal. But first I still need to get my RIM-66 painted...
