I just finished my first MMX scratch build. The plans came from the MMX Yahoo group. I wanted to start with a simple build, since I have not done any previous scratch builds before. I have a few Javelin Kits somewhere in the archives, so I thought it would make a good one to try.

All of the parts came from Quest, except the balsa which came from the LHS. The model was brush painted, and the decals were printed on 3M clear inkjet shipping labels.

It's not the prettiest rocket in the world, but it was a lot of fun to make and I hope to complete more in the near future. Based on the weight, it should be a great flier!

Good looking micro there microflyer!
The Centuri Javelin was my second rocket if memory serves my right back in the dark ages... I just loved that way it flew on any and all 18mm motors:D

TO this day I've tried to keep as least one flying in my standard size fleet and it was of coarse something that had to be downscaled for MicroMaxx as time went on.

Hope you have as much fun with yours has i've had with mine. it is in fact a great little flying. So far it's 11 flights have been to Quick off the pad for my little digital camera to catch a liftoff or flight shot. perhaps you'll have better luck:)

Edit:
Because this was one of my First ever Model rockets back in the day I try to keep one full size in the flying fleet just because. Last Pic is my current flying clone, made from vintage Centuri parts:)

Here's my Semroc Javelin model.

I usually fly it with 13mm motors in a motor adapter.

This is my SLS Javelin. I built it with a 24mm mount instead of the included 29. The card says it will do 3900' on an F! Why would I want to put a G in it again?

I just finished a slightly upscaled Javelin, with paint scheme based on the Centuri 1972 catalog. This is upscaled to BT-55 size with 18mm motor mount. The strips are created with masking tape and spray paint, a lot of work to get the tape on there and impossible to keep it from getting little runs under the tape here and there so don't look at it closer than arms length.
