    MM Javelin

I just finished my first MMX scratch build. The plans came from the MMX Yahoo group. I wanted to start with a simple build, since I have not done any previous scratch builds before. I have a few Javelin Kits somewhere in the archives, so I thought it would make a good one to try.

All of the parts came from Quest, except the balsa which came from the LHS. The model was brush painted, and the decals were printed on 3M clear inkjet shipping labels.

It's not the prettiest rocket in the world, but it was a lot of fun to make and I hope to complete more in the near future. Based on the weight, it should be a great flier!

    Good looking micro there microflyer!
The Centuri Javelin was my second rocket if memory serves my right back in the dark ages... I just loved that way it flew on any and all 18mm motors

TO this day I've tried to keep as least one flying in my standard size fleet and it was of coarse something that had to be downscaled for MicroMaxx as time went on.

Hope you have as much fun with yours has i've had with mine. it is in fact a great little flying. So far it's 11 flights have been to Quick off the pad for my little digital camera to catch a liftoff or flight shot. perhaps you'll have better luck

Thanks, I'm looking forward to flying it in spring. I forgot the best part about my model. I had some original Centuri paper streamer from some older builds. I cut a small section to use for this model. Nice when old rockets get new life

Would you object if I copied this post into a gallery thread?

I used to tell Mom, "...I want to fly rockets when I grow up!"

She said, "Make up your mind, you can't do both!"
