    Holiday Cheer!

I searched all of TRF and came up empty, so I'll start a thread that fits. Imagine my surprise that I was not able to find a thread for "penguin-finned rockets". I can't be the only one that thinks of things like this...
Our club launches throughout the year always include themes, and if there's a fun holiday that month, that's the theme. Keeps the creative juices flowing. Coming soon for me is "I just go nuts at christmas". If it's christmas, it flies! How do other TRF'rs fly holiday cheer? Any holiday is welcome.

Thanks, it flies better than I thought it ever would. Maybe it's the penguin fins... Temp wasn't as bad as it looked-still in the thirties. This Sunday will be what winter flyin' is all about- low twenties with flurries! Who's in?!?

Either the peguin is afraid he'll hurt his feet or he is very shy...mayhap if you glued his feet to a piece of cushy styrofoam(and effectively turn him into a piston) he would let folks see him skydive.

Hmmm... What is the probability of producing a proper penguin piston? Great idea Rex, I'm going to work on that. Should have something worked out by the next sod farm launch Jan.1.

So which are they...Penguins or Turtle doves? Heck does it really matter LOL!!! Great looking Christmas package Rocket.

I'm hoping to finish a 18mm motor Santa Rocket and convert a 10.5mm motor Stack-O-Presents into a Clustered Micro model Shortly LOL!

They are penguins. This craft is actually a penguin warship camoflaged in Christmas cheer. Penguins are taking over the world, Christmas is just the beginning. Be afraid, BE VERY AFRAID!

The stack o' presents is a very neat idea, does the top box separate as a nosecone would?

Yes, the top seperates at the box top seam with attached shock cord and neatly folded 10" chute.
A couple 1/4 sheets of FP wadding are placed under the chute like packing tissue along with a foam plug and 1/4 sheet in the 10.5mm stuffer tube. After 6 flights no sign of scorching on the 1/4mil mylar chute has been noticed.

As a bonus during a couple flights I've sprinkled a bit of glitter in with the chute & wadding for a little more sparkle at ejection.

I'm Hoping I can convert this model to a MMX motor cluster as we no longer have apogee 10.5mm 1/2A2 and A2 motors...They were great little motors!
